Documented, Fort Worth Report and Signal Cleveland leaders share the critical early decisions they made to set up their nonprofit news organizations for what they hope will be long-term sustainability. At 4 years old, Documented has cleared that critical three-year stage of development. At 18 months, Fort Worth Report is rapidly approaching that precarious point. Launching this month, Signal Cleveland is leading a statewide approach to local journalism.
